Mindful Sociology

Overall I agree with what he said. In fact, none of his points I disagree with. I believe that if people in the world today actually used empathy once in a while the world would be a much more peaceful place. If we could see in our minds and in our hearts how ruthless we are to them maybe we can tone it down a little. I am a pacifist so I believe that there is no good reason for and for torturing people with violence and physical torment.

I feel that burning the Korans takes it a little too far. We all have our own beliefs and differences why can’t people be humane enough to respect others? I feel like we Americans should at least try to talk it out when we don’t disagree with other countries. Even if it’s a small problem with 5 immigrants, one even, if you talk it out with them and you come to an agreement together, you might just change that person[s]’s life. We should put ourselves in their shoes. When I walk in an office building or a restaurant I usually talk very quietly or do not talk at all because I don’t want to disturb people working or eating. In my experience, I find it very annoying when I’m working on homework or regular work, it is very annoying when people talk and don’t shut there mouth.

I see myself fitting in the big picture of society as a Music Teacher changing lives of people by teaching them the power of music and how fun it is to sing, dance, or play along to it. Honestly, I don’t see myself making a huge change in millions of people, but I hope to make a change in those who are inspired by music and wish to play music.
